Tulsi Jayakumar is a Professor of Economics and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Rajasthan. Her doctoral research focused on the Practice, Reporting, and Communication of Corporate Social Responsibility in Indian Firms. She has completed triple master’s degrees in subject areas, including Business Administration, Philosophy, and Arts, from acclaimed institutions in India.
She has also been certified with the Certificate for Family Business Advising (CFBA) and Certificate for Family Wealth Advising (CFWA) by the Family Firm Institute, Boston. In her academic career spanning over 3 decades, she has taught at 20 leading and popular academic institutions across India.
She is a distinguished faculty who has demonstrated excellence in conducting research and publishing her research findings in renowned journals and periodicals. She has co-authored three books and five book chapters and has presented her intellectual contributions at leading national and international conferences. She has successfully led administrative leadership roles and is currently appointed as Executive Director, Centre for Family Business & Entrepreneurship at SPJIMR.
Dr. Jayakumar is a well-reputed scholar in her field. She regularly contributes to business newspapers including the Mint, Financial Express, Hindu Business Line and the Free Press Journal. Her articles have been widely discussed and deliberated upon in the social media as well. Her cases published with global case repositories like Ivey and distributed by Harvard are used across top B-schools in the world, and have been re-published in international text books. Her recent case on a Family Managed Business, Agarwal Packers & Movers won critical acclaim and was featured by the Case Centre. She also has contributed to national and international journals including the Economic & Political Weekly, Journal of Business Strategy, Competitiveness Review and the South Asian Journal of Management. Recently she has co-authored a book on Financial Markets and Institutions, published by Pearson.
