Dr. Manivannan Selvaraj is the Founder and Managing Director of Kauvery Group of Hospitals. Dr. Manivannan is a trained anaesthesiologist. His vision of making Great Healthcare affordable became reality in 1999, when he co-founded Kauvery hospital along with Dr. S. Chandrakumar.
Kauvery Hospital’s Mission is to bridge the burgeoning gap in trust between patients and hospitals and restore the importance of empathetic healing.
Dr. Manivannan’s firm belief of adoption of best practices to eliminate wastage, rationalizing treatment, optimization of the stay of patient in hospital helps in reducing the cost of treatment thereby making great healthcare affordable. This also helps in reducing the negative impact on tertiary health care due to complexities of various diseases and lack of availability of high end investigation tools.
Dr. Manivannan’s focus on implementation of lean methodologies and 5S practices has helped Kauvery Hospital win several awards in 5S, Quality Circle initiatives (employee’s ability to assess and resolve issues on their own).
Dr. Manivannan’s incredible journey of Medical entrepreneurship is replete with many achievements such as,

Dr Manivannan Selvaraj is the Founder, and Managing Director of Kauvery Group of Hospitals, which is one of the most trusted names in the healthcare sector in Tamil Nadu. The hospitals work on three pillars – Personal communication, Process and Technology. The first facility, which was set up by this group in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, in 1999, was very small with only 30 beds. In 2012, a hospital was set up in Chennai, which today is the nerve center of the group. This journey from a small town to an urban city marked the beginning of further improvement and development of the group. Today, this group operates eight hospitals in seven locations, including Chennai, and Bangalore. Now the Prestigious Kauvery Hospital is the Medical Partner sponsor of TNPL (Tamil Nadu Premier league) 2023. This collaboration Between KAUVERY hospital and TNPL not only congeal their commitment to promoting sports and fostering a healthy sporting culture but also marks the second year of their partnership.
Dr Manivannan Selvaraj shall be sharing his experience in creating a brand through disruptive thinking that they should reduce the cost for the patient in direct contrast to the industry that was charging high for patient care. He shall also share the simple management tools of 5S and lean processes he implemented in making a class hospital that was caring about its patients by being emphatic to them.
